Butler Offers Guyer HS Power Forward JaKobe Coles

The Butler Bulldogs offered Guyer High School (Denton, Texas) standout power forward JaKobe Coles a scholarship this past week:

The Class of 2020 recruit has also received interest from Colorado, North Texas, Notre Dame, Southern Methodist, TCU, Texas A&M, and Tulsa, so the Bulldogs will be vying among programs much closer to Coles in proximity.

If nothing else, Butler head coach LaVall Jordan continues to be very active in his recruitment of potential 4-star recruits–with Coles the latest in-line.

Butler landed another Class of 2020, 4-star recruit, Chuck Harris, just a few weeks ago.

The 6’7″, 225 pound Coles averaged 15.1 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.4 apg, and 1.1 bpg in 34 games for Guyer High School. He shot 55% from field goal range and was even a 40% three point shooter–hitting 30 of 75 three point attempts.

Coles has been highly regarded for having a very ‘polished’ game as a big man and would be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs frontcourt–which could use another impact power forward in the mix.
