Butler Bulldogs Basketball 2020 Offseason Transfer Tracker

Butler basketball head coach LaVall Jordan and his coaching staff are heavily active in this offseason’s transfer market–as the team looks to fill potentially two scholarships.

Freshman shooting guard Khalif Battle already announced his decision to transfer to another school, while junior forward Jordan Tucker is at least testing the NBA waters before making a final decision on returning back to Butler.

So without further ado, here are some of the transfers that Butler has already been connected with:

Darius Banks, Guard, James Madison (Sit)

The 6’5″, 220 pound junior shooting guard averaged 12.2 ppg, 1.9 apg, and 4.9 rpg in 32.2 mpg during 30 games for the Dukes–shooting .361 from FG and .333 from 3 PT.

Ishmael El-Amin, Guard, Ball State (Immediate)

The 6’1″, 180 pound point guard averaged 13.8 ppg, 2.3 apg, and 3.1 rpg in 32.4 mpg during 30 games for the Cardinals–shooting .429 from FG and .393 from 3 PT.

All-MAC Third Team selection (2019-20):

Fun Fact: El-Amin is the son of famous UConn guard Khalid El-Amin, who helped the Huskies win the National Championship along with Rip Hamilton in their starting backcourt in 1999.


Michael Ertel, Guard, Louisiana-Monroe (Immediate)

The 6’2″, 190 pound junior guard averaged 16.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.8 apg in 37.9 mpg during 29 games–shooting .400 from FG% and .333 from 3 PT.

The local Indianapolis product from Mount Vernon High School was named 2nd-Team All-Sun Belt Conference last season, made the 3rd-team as a sophomore, and was previously Sun Belt Freshman of the Year:


Michael Flowers, Guard, Western Michigan (Uncertain)

The 6’1″, 195 pound junior guard averaged 16.9 ppg, 2.9 rpg., and 3.3 apg. in 32.2 mpg during 32 games–shooting .428 from FG% and .368 3 PT%:


Umoja Gibson, Guard, North Texas (Sit)

The 6’1″, 168 pound redshirt sophomore guard averaged 14.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg, and 1.9 apg in 30.4 mpg. during 31 games–shooting .412 from FG% and .394 from 3PT.

He was Conference USA Second-Team All-Conference in 2019:


Justyn Hamilton, Forward, Temple (Sit)

The 6’10”, 190 pound junior forward averaged 3.3 ppg and 1.9 rpg in 10.5 mpg during 23 games for the Owls–shooting .444 from FG:


Amauri Hardy, Guard, UNLV (Immediate)

The 6’2″, 190 pound junior guard averaged 14.5 ppg, 3.3. apg, and 3.3 rpg in 34.6 mpg during 32 games for the Runnin’ Rebels–shooting .409 from FG and .333 from 3 PT.

2019-20 All Mountain West Conference Third-Team honors and 2x Mountain West Academic All-Conference Award winner (2017-19):


Charles Minlend Jr., Guard, San Franciso (Immediate)

The 6’4″, 208 pound redshirt junior guard averaged 14.4 ppg, 1.8 apg, and 4.7 rpg in 29.4 mpg during 34 games–shooting .416 from FG and .303 from 3 PT.

He is a 2x All-West Coast Conference member (2019-20). His father, Charles Minlend Sr., was a standout player at St. John’s (1992-96) and played professionally in Europe.


Koreem Ozier, Guard, Sacred Heart (Sit)

The 6’1″, 180 pound sophomore guard averaged 14.0 ppg., 3.3 rpg., and 1.9 apg in 29.5 mpg. during 31 games–shooting .387 FG% and .355 from 3PT.

The 6’8″, 240 pound sophomore big man averaged 4.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg in 10.5 mpg during 28 games for the Shockers–shooting .613 from FG:


Trey Wertz, Guard, Santa Clara (Sit)

The 6’4″, 185 pound sophomore guard averaged 11.9 ppg, 3.9 apg, and 3.5 rpg in 28.6 mpg during 31 games for the Broncos–shooting .489 from FG and .400 from 3 PT.
