The Butler Bulldogs have offered a pair of Class of 2021 high school recruits over the past week: local Lawrence North forward Dionte ‘D.J.’ Hughes and Nicolet (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) forward James Graham respectively:
Regarding Hughes, the 6’8″, 240 pound power forward has also received offers from Ball State, Duquesne, Evansville, and Toledo among other programs. He looks like he has the skill to thrive as a classic pick ‘n roll big man offensively rolling to the rim.
Hughes is a versatile, strong, and athletic forward–who’s already put on some added muscle to his frame:
Meanwhile, Graham is a 6’8″, 205 pound stretch forward who’s already received offers from a number of ‘power 6’ programs including: Arizona State, Auburn, DePaul, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Xavier among others.
Along with his smooth shooting stroke, Graham has also flashed the ability to put the ball on the floor and elevate around the rim offensively:
Butler has already been very aggressive this week on Class of 2022 recruits–as the floodgates were formally opened this week regarding legal recruiting.
However, the Bulldogs are still doing their due diligence for the class just a year ahead by recently making new offers to two talented Class of 2021 forwards: Hughes and Graham (as mentioned).
Hughes and Graham join Blake Wesley (Riley), John Poulakidas (Neuqua Valley), Brooks Barnhizer (Jefferson), and David Joplin (Brookfield Central) among current Butler Class of 2021 scholarship offers.
The Bulldogs have also offered Lawrence Central forward D’Ante Davis in the Class of 2022–with more offers potentially soon on the horizon.
Either way, Butler head coach LaVall Jordan and his coaching staff continue to be active on the recruiting trail, as Hughes and Graham are the latest Bulldog offerees.
