The Butler Bulldogs have offered another highly touted Class of 2022 recruit, as head coach LaVall Jordan and his coaching staff extended a scholarship offer to Mt. Clemens, Michigan, combo guard Javaughn Hannah on Friday:
It comes just a day after the Bulldogs also offered another Class of 2022 recruit, Virginia wing Justin Taylor out of St. Anne’s-Belfield High School (Charlottesville, Virginia). Taylor and Hannah join forward D’Ante Davis (Lawrence Central) among the Bulldogs’ current offerees for 2022.
Regarding Hannah, the 6’4″, 200 pound combo guard also has outstanding offers from Arizona State, DePaul, Marquette, Rhode Island, Texas A&M, VCU, and Washington State among his growing list of potential suitors.
Hannah is an an all-around scorer–who can really shoot it from deep, handle the ball, and is explosive driving to the rim (and also is a creative passer in the paint):
He scored a Macomb County record of 60 points this past season (including 10 made three point field goals).
Butler head coach LaVall Jordan obviously has some Michigan ties, which should help the Bulldogs’ recruiting cause here with an established connection. It’ll be interesting to see if either/both Michigan or Michigan State eventually offer Hannah–as each has already expressed initial interest.
That being said, Hannah fits exactly what the Bulldogs need, as a versatile, all-around scoring combo guard with range–who can both create his own shot as well as opportunities for others.
“2020 Mr. Michigan Basketball” Carlos ‘Scooby’ Johnson (Benton Harbor) will be joining Butler as a freshman this upcoming season–and Hannah could be just the latest Michigan product in-line soon thereafter for the Bulldogs’ recruiting pipeline.
